Tempera and gold on panel
Museum of the Basilica of St. Francis

St. Nicholas wears a mitre and cope and holds a crozier. The three gold balls that are his attribute rest in the fold of his cope. St. John Gualbert wears the habit of the Vallumbrosan Order and carries a book and a hand cross.

In a roundel above these two portraits an unidentified female saint folds her hands in prayer.
