Antoni Gaudí, The Flight into Egypt

Gaudí's sculpture of the Flight into Egypt brings an ancient tradition from the apocrypha into the 20th century, the inclusion of Joseph's son by an earlier marriage. As in medieval images, it is the son who leads the ass.
