St. Bartholomew

In his legend, St. Bartholomew died as a result of being flayed. The man in the headband's casually professional manner delivers a good lesson on the moral perils in "just doing my job."

The altarpiece itself was done be Gil de Siloé in 1483-6, but this oil is obviously from a later time.
