Saint Isidore's Water Miracle

1773
Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, Ragusa, Sicily

Juan Vargas drinks from a spring that arose when St. Isidore struck the ground with his ox-goad. In the far background is an angel tending the oxen in another miracle from St. Isidore's legend. The saint was said to live in the countryside near Madrid, so that city is probably what the gray building in the far background represents.
