The bearded man in the foreground group is St. Joachim, in the same beard and red hood he wears in the "Golden Gate" scene in the predella. The woman in the foreground group is the midwife mentioned in the Protevangelium of James

None of the literary sources I have seen mentions a servant offering soup as in this image.
