The Creation: Detail, Eve, St. John the Evangelist, the Crucifixion

Manuscript illustration

The circle on the left represents the sixth day of creation, the land animals and Man. However, the human on the left appears to be Eve, judging from the long hair and her gesture of modestly covering her breasts. The scene on the right is of course the Crucifixion, with Mary on the left and John on the right as usual. The man holding a pen in the central circle has the same hair, clothing, rosy cheeks, and pink halo as the John figure in the crucifixion, so he most likely John on Patmos.
