Psychostasy with St. Michael and the Virgin Mary
Late 15th century
Fresco
Llangybi Parish Church, Wales
This badly damaged fresco probably had a demon on the left, as in this better preserved example at St. Michael's, Vienna. In that example the Christ Cbild raises his hand in blessing; in this one, it is Mary who points to St. Michael with her right hand. It is possible but not certain that her left arm is holding the Christ Child.
