The Ligonde Cruceiro: Detail, the Pietà

Unusually for a wayside cross, the Ligonde Cruceiro has a Pietà carved on the reverse of the top of the cross. Clad only in a loincloth, the dead body of Jesus lies across the thighs of his seated mother.
