The Sarcophagus of Adelphia: Detail, God Give Moses the Law

On this left side of the clipeus God hands down the twin tablets of the Law. The is balanced by the right side, where his hand reaches down to tell Abraham not to sacrifice Isaac. Moses wears sandals, a tunic, and a pallium. Like Jesus, he is pictured as a beardless young man.
