St. Jude Thaddeus

5th century
Fresco
Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls

This portrait of St. Jude Thaddeus is part of a fresco with six Apostles standing in a row. St. Jude is identified by the inscription below his portrait. The circular object in his left hand is most likely his martyr's crown. The words on his scroll are now unreadable.
