St. Teresa of Ávila

Dressed santo
Santa María de la Natividad
Tamazulapan, Oaxaca, Mexico

This is the traditional representation of St. Teresa of Ávila in her Carmelite habit with book and quill pen. The flat black object atop her veil is a simplification of a crown seen in some of her images in the shape of the city walls of Ávila.
