The Crucifixion of St. Peter

Northern French, circa 1450
Oil on wood
Metropolitan Museum of Art

In this unusual painting St. Peter is pictured as a Franciscan, tonsured and clothed in a brown habit with a rope belt. (The belt, however, does not have the traditional three knots).
