The Conques Last Judgment Tympanum: Detail, the last fFour saints in the procession

Bearing haloes, these four figures might represent specific persons, especially as two of them have halos and thus are saints, but if so it is not clear who they would be. The second saint from the left is a female martyr (with a palm branch in her right hand, her left held palm-out in a gesture of acceptance of the divine will). The saint on the far left echoes this palm-out gesture, but his or her posture suggests the balance of "indecision and decision" before the moment of conversion.

The sleeved garment on the saint on the right may be a dalmatic, the vestment of a deacon. One book has suggested St. Vincent of Saragossa. The man behind him has a halo, layman's clothing, a beard, and a staff. Perhaps he is a pilgrim saint of local fame. He is surely not Roch, the most famous pilgrim saint, who is never bearded in the images and most often has a bubo on his leg.
