Theodore Schnell the Younger
St. Frances of Rome

1899
Church of Our Lady, Ravensburg, Germany

The saint wears an adaptation of the Benedictine habit, with the standard white veil and wimple, black tunic and scapular, but a gold mantle. Her right hand holds what one assumes to be a loaf of bread. With her left arm she cradles a collection of firewood. These most likely symbolize her generosity to the poor.
