St. Brigid
Circa 1850
From the headquarters of a guild in Germany
St. Brigid is identified by the inscription at the top of the column. As usual she is pictured in a nun's habit. The cow and the book are among her most common attributes.
The stick cradled in her right arm looks more like a pilgrim's staff than a crozier, which is what her images usually feature.
