The Passion of St. Barbara: Detail, the whipping and mutilation

This image is in the lower right of the left wing of the altarpiece. It conflates the two days of Barbara's tortures: whipped at a stake on the first day, mutilated on the second. Judging by the sword, the man on the left should be the father, Dioscorus, and the next man to the right would be the judge, Marcianus.
