The lamb at St. Agnes's feet is her principal attribute. In this unusual case, it has a halo, emphasizing that Agnes's lamb is the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ. The halos on the lamb and on the figure of Christ on the crucifix are also unusual in that they are not marked with a cross.
Like most other images of St. Agnes, this one has blond hair.
