Alessandro Turchi, Agatha of Sicily Cured by Saint Peter in her Prison

In the prison where she has been cast on orders of the provost Quintianus, Peter has come to restore St. Agatha's breasts, which the provost had ordered cut off. As in the Golden Legend, Peter is accompanied by a "child" (here interpreted as an angel) who brings ointment and a torch. This image seems to follow the tradition in which the breasts are seen to be restored by Peter and in his presence, rather than after he has vanished and Agatha has said her prayer of thanksgiving.
