Netherlandish Artist, Madonna and Child with Saints

1472
Oil on Wood
Metropolitan Museum of Art (on loan in 2008 from a private collection, L.1999.45)

According to the museum label, the figure of John the Baptist in the left panel was scraped off in the early 17th century and repainted with a figure from the marriage of Henry VII and Elizabeth of York. The other figure in that panel is St. Matthias, holding a spear as his attribute. In the right panel, the crowned figure is St. Louis. I have not yet identified the other figure.
