St. Nicholas

15th century
Church of San Nicolò dei Mendicoli

As usual, the saint is portrayed as a bearded and bareheaded bishop. Holding his crozier, he sits in his episcopal chair wearing an ornate chasuble. The three gold balls on his left knee are his most common attribute. The statue is in a niche behind the main altar of the church.
