St. Nicholas

15th century
Church of San Nicolò dei Mendicoli

As usual, the saint is portrayed as a bearded and bareheaded bishop – holding his crozier, seated in his episcopal chair, and wearing an ornate chasuble. The three gold balls on his left knee are his most common attribute. The statue is in a niche behind the main altar of the church.
