18th century
Fresco
Chapel of St. Anthony of Padua, Church of Sant'Apollinare Nuovo, Ravenna

While angels play a variety of instruments, putti bear the saint to Heaven to be greeted by the Trinity, represented as a dove between the Son on the left and the Father on the right. Anthony is as always beardless and in his brown Franciscan habit secured with the thrice-knotted cord.
